5 easy ways to instantly achieve a higher state of consciousness
What if I told you that achieving a higher consciousness doesn’t need to be difficult? What if I told you that anyone – including you – can do it? That you don’t have to be special or enlightened in order to achieve this state of mind?
It sounds… almost miraculous, right?
But how many times have you tried to connect to a higher state of consciousness, only to end up frustrating yourself in the process?
How many times have you tried and failed, deciding that perhaps you just can’t do it.
I’m here to tell you that achieving a higher state of consciousness can be done, and it can be done by anyone, no matter who you are or where you come from.
How can I be so sure?
Because I know a simple, yet important truth about connecting to a higher state of consciousness. So simple, in fact, that it might shock you.
Are you ready?
The simple truth is that anyone – including you – can connect to a higher state of consciousness because it already exists within you.
It is an integral part of you; your true self.
So how come you don’t feel like you’re connected to that part all the time? How come it so often feels like an effort in order to get to that state of mind?
It’s because – while it is our birthright and an integral part of ourselves, we haven’t been taught how to access it.
If you’re struggling to access this higher state of consciousness – if you’ve tried various methods and ended up frustrated and let down – all you need to do is follow five easy, practical steps that I’m going to share with you in this article. And, as you connect to a higher state of consciousness you’ll start to notice changes within your life. You’ll start to notice signs, like angel number 555 appearing in your life. Don’t worry, it’s all part of the adventure. 🙂
1. Ask the Universe to work through you
We so often feel like we’re separate from each other, and cut off from the Universal energies that flow all around us. We often have walls around us that we may have built unwittingly.
But in reality, we’re not separate at all.
When we feel desperate, sad and lonely, that’s when we most strongly believe in the idea of separation rather than oneness.
When we feel down, we so often believe that no one could possibly love us. That we are too desperate, too sad, maybe even too stupid to connect to a higher state of consciousness. When we feel unlovable, we also feel that we are cut off from the Universal Consciousness.
But these are precisely the times when we need to acknowledge that there is no separation between us and a higher state of consciousness. When we feel down, we have the perfect opportunity to release all of our negativity, to cry if we need to, in order to allow ourselves to be raw, vulnerable and exposed.
Because when we’re vulnerable, that’s when we can finally let go of control and boundaries, admit that we’re in need of help, and ask the Universe to work through us, connecting us to a higher state of consciousness.
So, every day, spend a few minutes with your eye’s closed visualizing a giant web of connections that connects you to everything in the universe. Imagine and feel the energy of the cosmos flowing through you. If you do this consistently, it will raise your vibe for sure and connect you to higher states of consciousness.
Connecting to a higher state of consciousness is more about letting go of habits than it is about developing new ones. As I’ve already said, this higher state of consciousness that we seek already exists within all of us. It’s just that we’ve been programmed to forget it.
Why has this happened?
This is because, while growing up, we were taught all kinds of things in order to become well-functioning members of society. We were told how to use the potty, when to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and what emotions to label as ‘negative’ or ‘positive’.
The problem is, while we were taught many good things that have helped us to thrive in society, rarely have we been reminded of our spirituality or the great power that dwells within us.
Rarely have we been told that we are complete and perfect, just the way we are; that we don’t need to so try hard to be this or be that in order to achieve a desired outcome or to receive love.
For instance, you were probably taught that saying ‘please’ is more likely to earn you a biscuit than saying ‘give me one right now’. And you probably needed to behave in a certain way in order to earn love, praise, and acknowledgment from your parents.
In order to achieve a higher state of consciousness, we need to reverse this programming.
Instead of thinking that we need to be or do something in order to earn the right to dwell in a higher state of consciousness, we actually just need to relax and let go.
Meditation is an excellent way how anyone, including you, can learn to detach themselves from their thoughts and deeply ingrained beliefs, and learn how to be content with doing nothing.
Since this higher state of consciousness already dwells deep within you, underneath all your racing thoughts, you simply need to let go of enough thoughts in order to reach it.
For best results, try meditating in the morning and in the evening – even if it’s just 10 minutes each time. This short guided meditation will help you to let go more easily, be present in the moment, and attain a higher state of consciousness.
3. Dance yourself into a frenzy
This one is my favorite!
The Universe is creative. Just like a higher state of consciousness, creativity is your birthright, too. By engaging in creative acts, be it painting, singing or dancing, you can tap into a higher state of consciousness more easily.
In fact, in many cultures, dancing has long been associated with inducing a trance-like state in which you can connect to a higher state of consciousness.
This is because dancing – especially the kind of wild, crazy dancing that is immensely fun and can eventually induce a trance – can help you to release tension and energies that are stuck in your mind and body.
You could even see dancing as a type of meditation – close your eyes as you let your body move to the rhythm of the beat.
Surrender to its moves. Try to let go of conscious thought and let your body guide you through its own dance.
Similarly to dancing, any high-energy activity will help you to connect to a higher state of consciousness more easily. For instance, meditating after a short run or some physical activity will be easier and more effective than meditating after a long day of staring at your computer screen.
4. Take a walk in nature
Nature is a profound natural healer.
Long before psychotherapy was invented, people turned to nature in order to ease their sorrows.
Just like a trained psychotherapist, nature too doesn’t judge. Instead, its presence can induce healing and help you feel connected to greater forces.
When you take a walk in nature you’ll start to feel like you’re part of a bigger organism – a force that is responsible for sustaining you in the same way that it sustains the grass, the trees, and the animals all around you.
If you have a bit more time, try to meditate in nature.
Consider the thought how a particular plant doesn’t have to strive hard in order to blossom – it’s completely reliant on nature’s force. It simply trusts that the Universe will supply it with everything it needs in order to grow. In fact, a plant is completely inseparable from this trust – and inseparable from the Universe.
That’s something any human can learn from. So take some time to connect with nature, and it will help you to master letting go and surrendering – both essential components for the process of connecting to a higher state of consciousness.
5. Try your hand at automatic writing
As I’ve explained before, a higher state of consciousness already dwells within you – in fact, it is an integral part of you, your true self.
It’s just that everyday thoughts often get in the way of achieving that state. So one of the things you can do in order to connect with this elevated state, is clear away those thoughts, as though you’re clearing away debris from a treasure chest that you’ve just discovered, buried in your own backyard.
Just like meditation, physical or creative activities or walks in nature, there is another trick of the trade that you can try in order to connect to a higher consciousness.
Automatic writing can help you clear away that debris of thoughts and connect to deeper truths within you. In fact, it was through automatic writing that Neale Donald Walsch was able to channel his bestselling books Conversations with God.
You can try a simple practice of setting the timer to ten or twenty minutes and letting your pen flow on paper. Don’t think about what you’re writing and don’t stop – simply let your hand lead the way and connect you to a higher state of consciousness.
